This workshop is the ultimate creative experience : you will be working with top West End performers on show stopping musical numbers and chorography from the most current musicals on the West End and Broadway - including 'Dear Evan Hansen', 'Waitress' and 'Hamilton'. Every single workshop is completely unique because we work with the individual needs and talents of each group, making it totally tailor made for each participant. If you want to write, create art, choreograph, direct, act, play music, write music, form a band, then we can't wait to have them in the room and work with the diversity of talent and interests they have. The workshop will culminate in a completely devised performance for friends and family!
The final performance is centred around what our young performers love to do. We will ask them on the first day to bring something to share with us all, be it a song, dance, acting, artwork, set deign etc. Then we incorporate that into the week and the final performance - celebrating and showcasing their strengths and passions. Our mission is to push them to do their best in a safe space. A non judgmental environment where they have the freedom to express themselves and co- create alongside West End actors. LEAP is a truly unique experience!

Alongside our inclusive-of-all-abilities regular workshops at Milton Keynes Theatre, we have noticed a demand for a workshop which is more tailored to those who want to be auditioning for professional drama school courses and/or roles in professional regional/West End shows. We feel this would be very beneficial for certain students that we could see would be auditioning for professional drama school courses and/or roles in professional regional/West End shows.
This is to refine audition technique. Numbers for this will be kept to a minimum of 15. We will ask participants to prepare one of the following options –
a) Two contrasting musical theatre songs and 2 contrasting monologues.
b) Two contrasting musical theatre songs.
OPTION A is for those wanting to prepare for drama school auditions.
OPTION B is for those wanting to prepare for auditions for roles in professional shows.
There will be one LEAP creative on the panel and a West End Musical Director as the the second panel member and pianist. We will ask them to bring sheet music that is properly marked and the pieces will be presented from memory.
Our LEAP ethos of confidence building and making our participants feel empowered and great about themselves will be the foundation of workshop and everything we do.
